Job Summary:

This position oversees mitral valve disease and MitraClip therapy education to referring physician practices. Incumbent will oversee strategies and programs to help recruit patients, working closely with MitraClip Procedure Specialists, District Managers and Executive Account Managers across Japan to cultivate referral relationships and establish network pathways for Mitral Regurgitation (MR) patients to gain access/care via MitraClip centers.

Primary goal is to increase the number of qualified MR patients treated with MitraClip within Japan. Develop action plans by analyzing sales figures, reports and other analytics and discuss opportunities and needs with stakeholders including District Managers to help the organization achieve its sales goals. Develop segmentation for referral networks and implement tailored programs aligned with MitraClip centers. Collaborate with stakeholders including physicians and colleagues to rapidly expand awareness and develop ongoing patient

recruitment/referral streams. Call on referring physicians to present MitraClip therapy and clinical data. Build strong relationships healthcare providers in therapy awareness efforts to grow the Mitral Regurgitation patient treatment pool among cardiologists, heart-failure specialists, cardiac surgeons, and interventional cardiologists in Japan. When appropriate, provide or facilitate communications necessary for patient treatment at a MitraClip center.

Correspondence to new facilities. Preparation for opening, etc.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Validate market potential nationally and by hospital catchment

area

  1. Map referral networks aligned with MitraClip centers, identify

existing links to accelerate engagement

  1. Partner with field team establish strategic pathways and

account objectives to expand the MR patient pool and deliver

procedural growth.

  1. Ensure a firm grasp of account activity, current and historical

performance to establish strategy to educate physicians about

MR and MitraClip therapy.

  1. Effectively direct physician behavior in a clinical or educational

setting.

  1. Design, test, initiate and effectively manage therapy awareness

education activities or events targeting referring

clinicians. Tap global experience to develop new programs

and tools for these purposes.

  1. Meet with existing and potential customers to identify clinical

needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care to provide

creative and feasible solutions.

  1. Build relationships in various hospital departments (Echo Lab,

valve coordinator, surgery, cardiology Directors, Hospital

Administrator, etc.)

  1. Support for opening new facilities. Check the facility standards,

prepare for the first case, set up training, and perform the

procedures up to the establishment.

REQUIREMENTS:

i) BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

  • 3-7 years of experience in medical device industry, preference for cardiovascular and structural heart clinical acumen.

  • Proven sales or marketing experience in medical device industry preferred (cardiovascular or structural heart).

  • Strong organizational, communication, and process skills to support business planning, forecasting, sales process, and inventory management.

  • Therapy awareness - Ability to create therapy awareness within and outside implanting centers to raise awareness and create / develop therapy education.

  • Proven ability to proactively connect referral community to therapy centers to assist with therapy development.

ii) EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's Degree preferred

  • Effective English communication preferred

  • Familiarity with medical device industry policies, operations and procedures.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and behaviors

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships across a range of stakeholders and influence stakeholders for alignment with company strategy

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
