Official Title: Custodian Working Title:Custodian Employment Class: University Staff Terms of Appointment:Continuous and Temporary FTE: Varies FLSA Status:Non-exempt Compensation: \$15.00/hour Department Shifts: 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. \| 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. \| 4 p.m. - midnight (12 a.m.) \| 8 p.m. - 4 a.m. Summary: Custodians at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh perform individual and/or group custodial duties in academic and administrative buildings, residence halls and dining services, operate and maintain power equipment to include, but not limited to: vacuums (upright, backpack, tank, wet/dry, portable), shampooers (upholstery, extraction, bonneting), floor scrubbers, floor buffers, pressure washers, snow blowers and various accessories for the above machines, and are exposed to a variety of cleaning solutions and chemicals, and may come in contact with blood-borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Training is provided in department standards, the proper cleaning methods, equipment operation and the use of safety procedures and protective equipment.
