Local Class A CDL Driver Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate and drive assigned commercial vehicles, typically tractor-trailers, with a focus on safety and compliance with all traffic regulations. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the mechanical fitness of the vehicle. - Safely load and unload freight from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of cargo to prevent damage during transit. - Execute scheduled deliveries and pickups of LTL shipments according to assigned routes and delivery instructions. - Interact with customers in a professional manner during deliveries and pickups, ensuring a positive customer experience. - Plan and follow the most efficient routes for pickup and delivery, considering time, fuel, and safety. - Complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. - Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. - Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies during transport. - Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and report any issues to maintain safe and operational vehicles. - Report any mechanical issues with the vehicle promptly and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed. - Maintain effective communication with dispatch, customers, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that may arise during transit. - Interact with customers in a professional manner, ensuring timely deliveries and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Local Class A CDL Driver Requirements: - Valid Class A CDL license with appropriate endorsements for the specific type of freight being transported. - Qualifying driving record and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. - Previous experience as a professional truck driver, especially in LTL operations, is preferred. - Strong knowledge of safety protocols and ability to operate commercial vehicles safely. - Physical ability to load and unload freight, as well as perform routine vehicle inspections. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - One (1) year professional driving experience in the commercial motor vehicle being operated. - Be eligible to drive any Company D.O.T.regulated vehicle. - Experience in handling and transporting freight, preferably in the LTL industry. - Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards. - Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading and the demands of the job. - Strong communication skills and customer service orientation. - Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively. - Familiarity with local routes and geographical knowledge preferred. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: E-Mail a Rsum: oshkosh@qpsemployment.com This position is listed by a private employment agency.
