Kentucky Wesleyan College Campus Security Director in Owensboro, Kentucky

Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is seeking applications for a part-time Campus Security Director to join our community and to oversee security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee weekday security operations, including patrols, surveillance, and access control.
  • Lead initiatives to improve campus safety, conduct risk assessments, and promote safety awareness and crime prevention programs among the campus community.
  • Conduct regular drills and training sessions for employees and students.
  • Assist with hostile and potentially hostile situations as requested.
  • Serve as the primary contact for emergency situations and coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services, as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all security incidents and prepare regular reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to campus security.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in security or law enforcement, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency response planning and crisis management.
  • Ability to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of current security technologies and systems as well as proficiency in their use.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make good decisions in high-pressure situations.•
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
