Guthrie Onboarding/Retention Spec - Physician Recruiting - Full Time in PA, United States

Position Summary:

Partners with medical group and support departments to strategize, lead and execute new provider onboarding and orientation to support readiness for growth and retention goals. Serves as key contact to support Guthrie physicians and advance practice providers (APPs) through 18 months after first day of employment. . Education, License & Cert:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or Communications is preferred.

Experience:

3 years prior experience performing duties specifically relevant to recruitment, retention &/or healthcare environment is required. Program management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently required. Exposure to and thorough understanding of PC software applications is required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops and implements innovative programs to support Guthrie Medical Group’s (GMG) onboarding program. This includes initiating pre‐arrival communication via personal outreach immediately upon the returned signed contract; maintaining a pattern of regular contact with the newly hired provider until his/her start date; facilitating assistance with local resources needed for relocation and questions related to launch of the provider’s practice with GMG. Works in collaboration with hiring departments to ensure all details are ready for the arriving provider. Also involves representatives of other departments such as IT, provider services, physician liaisons and marketing, as necessary.

  2. Coordinates bi‐monthly orientation sessions for newly hired providers with appropriate Guthrie subject matter experts and GMG managers.

  3. Assesses new physicians’ and APPs’ satisfaction through personal visits on regular intervals. This commences upon arrival and continues for the provider’s first 18 months. Documents responses; follows up on concerns; and provides regular reports to leadership regarding trends and patterns in the success of assimilation of new providers at Guthrie.

  4. Coordinates and executes professional and social events within budget, for providers and their families to encourage integration into the Guthrie community and employee retention.

  5. Regularly assesses effectiveness of the Onboarding and Retention program using appropriate data and benchmarking. Performs analysis and prepares reports for the Onboarding and Retention program including ramp up progress reports and retention risk reports.

Other Duties:

  1. Travel for this position is sometimes required. Valid driver’s license and means of transportation are required.

  3. Additional responsibilities of Cortland‐Based Physician Onboarding and Retention Specialist include: providing tours to provider candidates; coordinating on site portions of orientation for new providers; planning regional events such as new provider welcome for all community providers and regional GMG providers; and providing updates to GCMC leaders and senior leadership team regarding recruitment and onboarding activity.
