We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for Power Electronics to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of advanced power electronics systems that meet and exceed industry standards.

Job Description:

As a Principal Electrical Engineer for Power Electronics at Generac Power Systems, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing electrical systems for our power electronics solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our products adhere to industry standards, including a deep understanding of the NEC code. You will also be responsible for integrating power line communication systems and managing the thermal performance of outdoor electrical equipment panels.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power electronics.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the NEC code and its application to electrical system design.

  • Familiarity with power line communication systems and their integration into electrical systems.

  • Expertise in thermal management solutions for outdoor electrical equipment panels.

  • Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating electrical schematics, PCB layout design, and system integration.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve electrical design issues.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation:

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Pacific Palisades, California is $150,000-199,000 USD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
