Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Scope of Position:

Serve as a Technician resource for process improvement, process monitoring at a manufacturing site. The primary role consists of on-shift technical support for the manufacturing process. Perform 1st level process and equipment troubleshooting by providing technical support to the plant’s various metrology systems to support the manufacturing of cellular ceramic products.

  • Provide operations support for manufacturing of cellular ceramic products

  • Provide day to day operational support with on-shift technical support and troubleshooting

  • Monitor equipment and product performance and respond as necessary

  • Support and provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary operations groups

  • Perform and document preventative / predictive maintenance procedures

  • Verification of metrology results consistent with historical values

  • Management of calibration tools and equipment

  • Support daily and monthly process audits

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Support and conduct MSA’s and R&R’s

  • Off hour call in support per on call schedule

  • Trouble shooting equipment problems with department Engineers and Technicians

  • Maintain and develop process documentation for the metrology group

  • Perform Analytical testing so support new equipment implementation

  • Experience with graphical user interface and human machine interface.

  • Experience working within engineering project teams.

  • Possesses an understanding of general mechanics and ability to apply that understanding during troubleshooting and system implementation.

  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Highly motivated, results oriented, customer focused, with a high commitment level.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Two-year technical degree plus 3 or more years equipment/controls experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 1+ years equipment/controls/lab/programming experience

SKILL AND/OR WORK STYLE PREFERRED:

  • Attention to details and dependable.

  • Flexible and strong work ethic, strong performer

  • Ability to work under pressure to a schedule that is ever changing, and make modifications to personal schedule to accommodate manufacturing schedule needs on the fly

  • Good written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented)

  • Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Self motivated in performance of tasks, works with minimal direction.

  • Hands on Electrical/ Mechanical or Calibration Experience

  • Excellent PC Skills, Excel, MS Word, Xcel, Gauge Track, Maximo

The range for this position is $55,176.00 - $75,867.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
