Actalent Medical Assistant (Back Office) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Job Title: Back Office Medical Assistant FloaterJob Description

The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This position supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the MA role or dedicated lab role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical and administrative functions under clinician supervision.

  • Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.

  • Examine and treat patient population.

  • Perform all laboratory testing procedures including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

  • Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

  • Assess emergencies and act accordingly.

  • Float from one location to another as patient queue demands.

Essential Skills

  • Medical assisting certification (RMA, CCMA) or 3 years of MA experience.

  • Phlebotomy skills and experience.

  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.

  • Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).

  • Active BLS certification.

  • Active driver’s license.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.

  • 2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

  • Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires 100% onsite work: Monday - Friday 10:00 am-7:00 pm and every other Saturday 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Floating between locations including Royal Palm Beach, Boynton East, Boynton West, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens. Permanent opportunity with travel mileage reimbursement and additional gas card benefits for traveling outside core locations. Willing to train on manual vitals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
