Join our team as the Environmental Specialist at the Palmerton, Pennsylvania, US Recycling Facility.   

Your role and tasks:

• Maintains working knowledge of permits and regulations applicable to the facility, and performs inspections to ensure compliance with the same
• Ensures that all required environmental compliance monitoring data is collected, maintained, and transmitted in a timely manner
• Oversees the hazardous waste receiving / manifest tracking systems to ensure that regulatory requirements are achieved
• Participates as needed in compliance assurance and EMS auditing programs and conducts routine informal facility inspections to monitor compliance on a real-time basis
• Develops working relationships with field level regulatory agency personnel
• Supports corporate environmental efforts related to permitting, reporting and data management
• Supervises and oversees maintenance of the EMS and facility management procedures
• Provides environmental training
• Maintains and oversees keeping of environmental records

Your profile:        

• BS in Environmental Science or a closely related field. 
• Three to five years of functional/technical experience is preferred.
• Manufacturing or other heavy industry experience is preferred.   
• ISO 14001 system or other system experience would be helpful.
• Effective written, oral skills and presentation skills
• Ability to communicate effectively from the CEO to the shop floor
• Hands on approach to getting things done
