Rubrik AV Engineer in Palo Alto, California

IT Collaboration Tools and Media Engineer

The AV Engineer will play a leading role in the meetings and events experience at Rubrik. Committed to the success of our company goals, this engineer understands the criticality of IT presence and excellence for this program. Meticulous mindset, contingent planning and complete ownership of this program will be the main requirement for success in this role.

Technical responsibilities include, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV & media equipment throughout the Rubrik global environment. This Engineer will design and implement video walls, digital signage operations, room schedulers, Zoom and other video collaboration systems such as Crestron and other industry leading systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the success of the US AV events program at Rubrik and partner with global engineers to unify and standardize tools and services.

  • System Administration of Zoom products and other AV collaboration tools.

  • Experience supporting Executive staff in a variety of areas. General IT laptop support, Meetings/Earnings call support and media requests. (Interviews with news outlets, podcasts and other)

  • Produce and plan live events onsite and offsite for Rubrik, work closely with EA’s and Corp Comms teams and event producers to ensure that the technical setup meets the requirements and objectives of each event.

  • Act as point of contact for requests and questions related to video, lighting, audio, and general event needs.

  • Ability to act and decide as an IT site lead. Have a proactive rather than reactive working style.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

  • Build and communicate a well-organized project implementation plan. (internal or with an external integration partner)

  • Set up, operate, breakdown, and maintain technical equipment for live events. Responsible for onsite coordination and oversight of all technical aspects of the production.

  • Configure equipment and racks to ensure ease of setup and operation on-site.

  • Own physical asset management of AV tools and video equipment. Partner with the Endpoint engineering team to build a successful program for version control and updates for Zoom, Neat, Other.

  • Evaluate equipment that needs repair and create plans to refresh or update.

  • Collaborate with other team members for successful events, knowledge of Servicenow, Jira or other ticketing tools.

  • Train junior members of the service desk to support and maintain meeting spaces and create knowledge articles for employee self service.

  • Quickly work to resolve technical issues as they arise.

  • Perform AV equipment repairs and maintenance and or optimize partnerships with AV integration companies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years working on a technical team, with a heavy concentration on A/V support and integration.

  • High level of organization and grace under pressure.

  • Working knowledge of Crestron, AMX, Medialon control systems; Biamp, Ashly, Symmetrix, Crestron, and/or QSC audio DSPs (certifications a plus)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard hardware and software components and peripherals as well as proficiency in MacOS, Microsoft, iOS, and Android OS platforms. Including Zoom, MS Teams Rooms Systems, Live Events/Webinars, Digital Signage hardware & CMS, video distribution, audio DSPs and AV control systems.

  • Solid knowledge of audio-visual connectivity and signal flow; experience reading wiring diagrams and interpreting system design drawings.

  • Experience troubleshooting and working with DSPs, Dante, and other audio solutions.

  • Knowledge of AVoIP, virtual control of AV systems, and AV networking strongly preferred.

  • Networking protocols and terminology are highly desirable.

  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce across the organization.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written). High level of organization.

  • Familiarity with project budgets, Resource planning awareness.

  • Strong planner, tying strategy and architecture concepts to new project requirements.

  • Thinks globally and seeks to leverage existing standards.

  • Vendor management skills required.

  • Ability to lift, bend, twist, and be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders if necessary.

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a time-sensitive production environment

  • Team player + consistent “can do” attitude.

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing circumstances and timelines.

Travel Requirements:

  • The ability to travel up to 20% will be required.

  • Travel required as needed both locally, nationally, with the possibility of international travel.

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

$120,200—$180,200 USD
