Job Summary: The Network/System Administrator at Central Moloney is a high-level IT professional who helps maintain and support all CMI technology. This role involves managing and troubleshooting our IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting various sites. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise IT system hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Set up new computer equipment and software applications, including e-mail accounts, operating systems, and other applications.
  • Troubleshoot problems with computers, printers, network devices, or other network components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, and other hardware devices used in networks.
  • Manage our virtual server environment, including physical hardware, virtual infrastructure, guest servers, applications, and backups.
  • Maintain an inventory of computer equipment such as workstations, servers, printers, and other devices, along with their specifications.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology staff members to work on projects.
  • Deploy CAT6 drops that are professionally done and fully tested.
  • Manage databases and update them as needed.
  • Manage and configure firewalls and the RingCentral phone system.
  • Configure and maintain mesh access points.
  • Track and resolve service requests with hardware and software.
  • Perform software and firmware updates to protect the security and stability of IT systems.
  • Respond to, evaluate, and correct IT system failures during and outside regular work hours.
  • Develop processes for the automation of repeated administrative tasks.
  • Analyze business processes and institutional requirements to recommend technical solutions.
  • Conduct research on hardware and software components of IT systems in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Evaluate needs for technology configuration changes and implement changes.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation (procedures, operational statuses, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records necessary for IT systems operations (equipment inventory, licenses, support contracts, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT system administration or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of network management systems (NMS), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and SAN.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to operate and supervise the use of IT equipment, including computers, servers, and network devices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work during regular business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends for maintenance or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Lift ng:Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Environment:Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors.
  • Physical Activities:Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
  • PPE:Wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
  • Dexterity and Vision:Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Stamina:Stand for long shifts.
  • Skills:Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork.
  • Safety:Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
