Google Senior Manager, Ads Ecosystem and Safety in Paris, France

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 14 years of experience working with the technology sector, including working collaboratively on technology product issues.

  • 5 years of experience in people management.

  • Experience working with government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations, including political and policy making processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing a team, particularly a team distributed across multiple locations, and a function or significant subject matter within an organization.

  • Experience working directly with product managers, engineers, and executives.

  • Experience working on a global team with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Understanding of public policy issues relating to digital advertising, including digital advertising ecosystem and its intersection with AI, competition, privacy, content and safety issues.

  • Knowledge of Internet technologies and the policy environments that surround them.

The Government Affairs and Public Policy Knowledge & Information (K&I) Ads Product team is looking for an individual to design, implement, and manage public policy strategy for Google’s Ads business, focusing on the ads ecosystem, AI, and ad content and safety.

In this role, you will bring a global view of the public policy issues impacting digital advertising, especially in the areas of ad content, safety, AI, and competition. Through leading high-impact and high-visibility projects, you will be able to deepen your knowledge of our products, policies, and core principles. You will project manage and build cross-functional relationships. You will collaborate closely with your teammates working on issues related to Ads products. You will report to the Senior Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) Ads.

  • Manage a small team, focused on broad issues across the digital ads ecosystem, including in ad content, ad safety, AI and competition.

  • Work closely with relevant Government Affairs and Public Policy teammates to track and advise your team and executives on relevant high-priority regulatory trends.

  • Engage externally with government and policy key opinion formers, and facilitate and drive external engagements with Google’s advertising executives.

  • Work with ads product teams on key product features and integrations to maximize positive impact with public policy, and mitigate potential risks.

  • Manage global, cross-functional relationships with Product teams, legal colleagues, trust and safety experts, and others. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholder to shape Google’s overall position on key policy topics related to digital advertising.
