Job Summary The Department of Emergency Medicine at Denver Health is recruiting a intermittent emergency medicine physician or family medicine physician for our Winter Park, CO medical facility. Faculty are expected to be highly motivated and engaged academicians, robustly contributing to and aligned with our departmental mission of 'Serving Our Patients and Leading Our Specialty.' As such, our recruitment will place a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

Denver Health Winter Park Medical Centeris a 7- bed medical facility located at the base of Winter Park Resort and managed by Denver Health. The facility in Winter Park is a designated Level 5 trauma center that accepts patients from Winter Park Ski/Bike Patrol, Grand County EMS, and walk ups. Additionally, it provides urgent care and full scope family medicine services to residents and visitors of Grand County. Patient care needs span the entire spectrum of medicine. We have a multidisciplinary staff of family medicine, emergency medicine and sports medicine providers that are supported by the Level 1 trauma, medical and subspecialty providers at the Denver Health's main campus. This is a community minded facility that supports collaboration with local & regional emergency preparedness, injury prevention programs and workplace wellness initiatives. Our physicians teach emergency medicine residents, family medicine residents, and sports medicine fellows from Denver Health, the University of Colorado, and other programs. We consistently provide excellent care and deliver a patient experience that is among the best in the nation. Winter Park is located in eastern Grand County, Colorado, about 75 miles from downtown Denver. This highly sought-after mountain community that provides excellent quality of life, abundant outdoor recreation, outstanding schools, and low unemployment consistent with its growing population. The ideal candidate will reside in Grand County.

The Denver Health emergency department, located on our main campus in Denver, includes a 44-bed adult ED, 13-bed adult fast track, 23-bed adult observation unit, and a 19-bed pediatric ED and urgent care; a 10-bed psychiatric ED, operated by the Department of Psychiatry, is co-located. With a combined annual census of more than 100,000 patients from highly diverse culture and backgrounds, the ED at Denver Health is the second busiest in Colorado. The Ernest E Moore MD Shock Trauma Center at Denver Health is the primary trauma referral center for the Rocky Mountain Region, and our hospital is ACS-designated as an adult level 1 and pediatric level 2 trauma center. The acuity managed by the adult ED is high, with a 25% admission rate. Staffing in the adult and pediatric EDs is provided by board-certified emergency physicians, emergency medicine residents and subspecialty fellows, and advanced practice providers. Strong and extremely collaborative relationships exist among physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and consultative services.
