Engineering Services Intern (Summer 2024)

Position Summary:

This is a hybrid position encompassing engineering document control, including the use of ERP and PDM tools, and the responsibilities of Designer I, who uses CAD tools to execute drawing revisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain part number and document number databases.

  • Process new part document release.

  • Enter and maintain bill of material (BOM) and item master data.

  • Process engineering change request.

  • Manage influx of daily requests (via e-mail)

  • Updated and maintained files for engineering drawings, Engineering Change Notices, and other related documentation.

  • Provide documentation maintenance along with filing.

  • Provide administrative support to the Engineering business unit.

  • Assist with nameplate and label generation.

  • Prepare CAD drawings from redline markups & incorporate ECN’s.

  • Effectively interpret industry design and drafting standards.

  • Utilize Creo to model and redraw manual drawings.

  • Generate Bom from Creo drawings & export to ERP.

  • Create Bom utilizing Windchill 12.0(+)

Qualification/Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Associate degree or equivalent

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization.

  • Strong computer literacy, with MS Office/PC expertise, Adobe Acrobat, Windchill

  • Beginner level with Creo 4.0(+) and Windchill 12.0(+)

  • Beginner level creating Creo drawing and solid modeling.

  • Must be a US Citizen

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

  • No travel is expected for this position.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.

  • The employee is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.

  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

  • Some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
