Injection Molding Process Engineer

Job Description

As an Injection Molding Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in establishing and optimizing process conditions for new products through decoupled molding. You will be responsible for troubleshooting molding processes, evaluating tooling for quality and efficiency improvements, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will collect and analyze process data, document mold process sheets, and provide training and support to process technicians. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of injection molding equipment and thermoplastic materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish process conditions through decoupled molding for new products.

  • Troubleshoot molding processes, material, or equipment issues.

  • Evaluate tooling for quality and efficiency improvements and recommend optimizations.

  • Collect and analyze data to identify and improve process capability.

  • Document and maintain mold process sheets for accuracy.

  • Provide training in scientific molding practices to process technicians.

  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.

  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other techniques to analyze process data and drive improvements.

  • Program robots and peripheral equipment as needed.

  • Perform additional tasks to ensure smooth plant operation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding.

  • Working knowledge and experience with injection molding and ancillary equipment.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of thermoplastic materials and their properties.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RJG Master Molder I/II certification.

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends.

  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members.

Additional Information

  • Clean room work environment.

  • M-F 8AM-5PM

Salary 120k

  • Company health benefits, 401k, and PTO.

Pay Details: $120,000.00 per year
