Summary You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Supervisor II in the Production Resources Dept, Mechanical Shop (Code 930) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will plan, assign and coordinate the critical aspects of the shop's non-nuclear mechanical work that involves manufacture, overhaul, refit, conversion and repair of submarine, surface craft and non-ship work. You will supervise the day-to-day work operations of several work groups. You will improve work processes and utilizes manpower and material resources. You will be accountable for ensuring that manpower and material costs are directly linked to program/mission objectives, that expenditures remain within approved budget levels. You will supervise employees through subordinate supervisors and assign/explain overall objectives, work requirements, deadlines, etc. You will Determines manpower/resources required to meet planned workload and plan the allocation of manpower /resources to subordinate work groups. You will evaluate work operations through reports on completed work, inspection, etc., to identify trends or other indicators of poor or excellent performance. You will compare existing manpower/resources to the planned workload and recommends changes to the general work schedules, if necessary, or adjustments to planned manpower/resource requirements. You will recommend changes in specification requirements, work techniques and standards, and improvement of equipment, facility layout, and workflow.
