U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Hawaii

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will plan, schedule, assign, and review job summaries and/or estimates to assure the work is complete and accurate. You will provide administrative and technical supervision to an assigned subordinate group of approximately 6 - 8 Planner and Estimators, GS-12 Nuclear Engineers and GS-12 Engineering Technicians. You will review job orders, material lists, estimate sheets, etc. to ensure compliance with current directives and procedures. You will determine the developmental training needs of subordinates. You will consult with training organizations to determines the means by which training will be accomplish. You will approve sick and annual leave requests and recommend the approval/disapproval of Leave Without pay and requests for advanced sick leave. You will resolve conflicts and overlapping functions between subordinates in the interest of achieving overall objectives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative and technical leadership to the preparation of work/job orders for engineering projects in support of ship repair operations that include the development of estimates, budgets, and project schedules using planning tools (e.g. Management Information Systems (MIS) and Advanced Industrial Management (AIM)). Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
