Do you have a desire to play a crucial role in the awareness of drug and alcohol problems, issues, and trends in the community? The Bradford and Sullivan Counties Drug & Alcohol Abuse Unit is looking for a dedicated Drug & Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee to complete our team. This position gives you the opportunity to learn how to collaborate with schools, specialists, and community programs to educate students and the public with evidence-based materials regarding drug and alcohol prevention. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Drug & Alcohol Prevention Specialist Trainee, you will have the opportunity to participate in a training program that teaches you how to implement and develop programs regarding drug and alcohol prevention. Work includes learning how to give presentations, disseminate information, organize youth involvement in community projects, and perform case management duties. In this role, you will learn the skills necessary to serve as the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) liaison and promote FASD awareness. Additional responsibilities include data entry, generating reports, as well as participating in quarterly quality assurance meetings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Hours may vary due to travel and after hours appointments.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 18 days per year. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Towanda.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
