DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will learn to facilitate and ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to hiring activities and processes for the Department of Labor & Industry and the Department of Banking & Securities. Your training will include providing job-filling advice and guidance to hiring managers, conducting research to develop appropriate hiring strategies, and differentiating between required and preferred qualifications for select positions. You will also participate in the review of candidates to resolve problems as they arise, implement agreed upon resolutions as appropriate, and ensure compliance with legal criteria to ensure consistent and fair hiring practices. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.

  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
