Caterpillar is hiring a Senior Sales Support Consultant within the Construction Industries Aftermarket Managed Accounts team to lead and implement the future of Framework Agreements for Managed Accounts, which serve as the key mechanism to provide the foundation for strategic customer relationship building and growth.

This person will be instrumental in driving a strategy, project plan and proposing core commercial offerings to suit the variety of needs for CI Managed Accounts customers, ensuring overall alignment with key business partners and adherence to legal and compliance standards. The output of this role directly contributes to sustainable services growth in this key segment as the structure of these agreements are designed to help customers, dealers and Caterpillar win.

Building the Foundation

  • Serve as the primary consultant and Subject Matter Expert on standard Framework Agreement offerings, as well as tailored solutions that can be leveraged based on the unique needs of each customer

  • Create and lead a strategy and project plan to represent the journey to mature Framework Agreements from the “as-is” to the “to-be” state

  • Serve as the liaison between Account Management and Global Construction & Infrastructure Division (GCI) and CISD Legal Services to build the foundational elements required for an effective and compliant Framework Agreement

  • Lead projects in collaboration with key business partners to identify and deliver a consistent (yet customizable) suite of commercial solutions to be leveraged when building and negotiating Framework Agreements

Contract Execution

  • Collaborate and support Account Managers with structuring the best overall aftermarket package via Framework Agreements for customers

  • Lead contract review sessions with all applicable stakeholders prior to executing

  • Collaborate with GCI and CISD Legal Counsel on appropriate contract terms and conditions by contract with a focus on risk mitigation for Caterpillar

  • Participate in customer negotiations, as appropriate

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive repository of all contractual agreements and monitor adherence to contractual terms and renewal/expiration dates

  • Monitor performance against key contractual terms that represent significant risk across agreements and highlight findings to business partners in order to provide proper visibility and align risk mitigation actions as needed

Required Skills :

  • Progressive experience with business, legal and/or commercial (dealer, customer) roles

  • Extensive knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for sound decision-making, and ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in diverse situations

  • Demonstrated project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision

  • Highly skilled in relationship building, influencing and working across a matrixed organization

  • Excellent communication skills, organization, consistent and demonstrated follow-through

  • Team Lead qualities and capabilities, which include strong prioritization skills and desire to lead, coach and guide

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Advanced in PowerPoint and Excel

Top Candidates Will Also Have :

  • Understanding and experience with Caterpillar Global or Corporate Accounts customers

  • Dealer/Customer field experience

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver analysis and insights

  • PowerBI/Tableau capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field

Additional Information:

  • Work Location: Peoria, IL

  • Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days per week of onsite work

  • Travel 15% - 20%
