Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Training Support Consultant in Peoria, IL. In this role, you will lead analysis of training needs, executes development and delivery of the training programs in alignment with sales and service goals, aligned with career development plans that support the business.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Improve dealer understanding of commissioning and set up of the 374 and 395

  • Develop plans for how commissioning will be supported for 395+ size future NPI models

  • Oversee/attend machine commissioning as needed to fill short term needs and to learn about the current field situation.

  • Identify and address other training/knowledge gaps within EXD product such as work tools

  • Participate on pilot machine and associated work tool “Field Follows.”-Requiring the selected candidate to visit newly commissioned machine in the field and report on the issues found during operations. This activity is to keep skills updated and current, and then communicate this information to the dealers.

  • This includes working with dealers to support customer selection

  • Setting up contracts and terms of the field follow

  • Supporting the pilot machine through the field follow cycle up to and including final reworks and disposition of the machine.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Service Excellence : Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

  • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • Knowledge of 374 & 395 Excavator models and machine systems

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline

  • Hydraulic Machine Systems knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems

  • 10 years of relevant machine experience.

  • Experience commissioning the 374 and 395 excavators

  • Experience collaborating directly with dealer service technicians, customers, and on job sites.

  • Demonstrated project leadership skills

Additional Information:

Ability to travel up to 50%

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL.
