Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Peterson AFB - El Paso - Colorando. Responsibilities Determines the need to develop and issue policy plans and instructions for proper integration and implementation. Reviews and analyzes applicable operations and plans directives and policies issued by DoD. Communicates current information on key issues and special events Prepares read-ahead and briefing materials for senior leaders and participants. Attends routine and regular Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) video teleconferences, meetings and working groups. Performs analysis and prepares reports on results together with comments on the quality of the collection environment and ways in which the data collection process can be improved. Focuses joint planning guidance (JPG) on developing plans that contain viable cyberspace options. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe One Year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. Planning and Operations network and defensive cyberspace operations (DODIN/DCO) procedure for the command (i.e. CYBERCOM, DOD CIO, Joint Forces Headquarters Defensive Cyberspace Operations JFHQ-C DODIN, and/or cyber protection team (CPT) network and defensive cyberspace operations planning, procedures, operations, and authorities supporting Combatant Command objectives and requirements.) 2. Executing Defense Information Network and Defensive Cyberspace Operations DODIN/DCO planning meetings (including briefs, meetings, operational planning teams, conferences, classes, crisis action planning, etc.) including generation and review of supporting materials (briefings, synch matrices, agendas, schedules, timelines, DODIN RAMs, Requests for Support (RFS) etc.). 3. Maintains Cyber domain technical aptitude sufficient to understand and translate broad area of technical operations, activities, investments, and information into non-technical operations, activities, investments, risks, requirements, impacts, etc. for senior non-technical decision makers including the development and delivery of technical and other professional communications (battle rhythm charts, decision briefs, decision support matrices, activity reports, ghost emails, calendar invites, FO/GO talking points, information papers, staff packages, responses to Congress, etc.). DOD 8571.01 IAT Level 1 4. DOD planning experience is desired (MDMP and/or Service equivalents, JOPP / JPP, APEX, SAAS/SAMS/SAWS, etc.) Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Info. security clearance.
