Confidential Employer Behavioral Consultant in Phila, Pennsylvania

Position Summary:

The Behavior Consultant's in collaboration with other treatment team members develops and implements behavior modification intervention plans which are individualized to each child or adolescent according to their treatment needs. The Behavior Consultant identifies behavioral goals and intervention strategies and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods. The Behavior Consultant typically serves as consultant to the treatment team, including the Mobile Therapist and Behavioral Health Technicians as well as the client and the clients' natural supports. The BC maintains contact with external supports including any home, school and community supports etc. The BC must attend evaluations, team meeting and school meetings etc. necessary on behalf of the child or adolescent. The BC implements behavioral, de-escalation, and safety plans etc., geared to teach and maintain socially significant behaviors.

General Description of Responsibilities:

  1. Develop treatment plans, IBHS assessments, FBA assessments etc.
  2. Develop data collection tools & collect data on behaviors (for both replacement/target behaviors).
  3. Completes progress notes, Monthly summaries, and other assessments for the development, tracking and maintenance of treatment needs.
  4. Monitors the progress, consistency, and regression of target behaviors.
  5. Collaborate & meet with home, school, community & clinical supports for the client.
  6. Provides clinical consultation for treatment team, consumer, and their families.
  7. Provides supervision for BHT's weekly.
  8. Completes required documentation for billing purposes including, timesheets, encounter forms, etc.
  9. Initiate and oversee titration of services and discharge.
  10. Attends mandatory group and individual supervision monthly etc.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities

Attendance

  1. Behavior Consultants must be at their schools daily.
  2. BC and all school specific IBHS staff should be at the school by the start of the school day, no later than 8:00 am every morning and remain until closing as per client caseload.
  3. BC must track IBHS staff coming and going from the site daily.
  4. BC must do a brief check in with staff every morning to discuss updates of any nuances for that day, i.e. (children /staff absences, new staff support, agency announcements, school/client early dismissals, school holidays, school trips (BC must decide based on needs, who should attend school trip with their client, and who must remain at the school to provide IBHS client coverage)
  5. BC must send staff and client attendance to Clinical Supervisor every week on Monday for the previous week's attendance.
  6. BC is required to contact Clinical supervisor and advise support staff when absent from work.
  7. BC must check their emails throughout the day for IBHS communication and provide a working number to school and clinical staff. 

Staffing

  1. BC is required to follow guidelines of the IBHS staffing policy which includes being point of contact for all IBHS families at their school and providing weekly contact with client and/or family of unstaffed clients.
  2. BC must assign cases to BHTs based on clinical need and in accordance with the authorization. Daily assignments are kept on a white board or other visual communication tool so that both IBHS and school staff are aware.
  3. BCs is required to update the school tacker weekly and share with school staff, the CBH School-Based Liaison, and Clinical Supervisor/Director.
  4. BC is required to carry a caseload of no more than 10 clients, complete all documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, FBA's if BHT is recommended etc.

Meetings

  1. BC must hold weekly or biweekly IBHS meetings with school staff and CBH School-Based Liaison.  BC should attend all school meetings as needed for IBHS clients.
  2. BC must document school meetings and other required information in Qu ckbase.
  3. BC are required to attend bi-weekly meetings and monthly group supervision with Clinical Supervisor/Director.

Other service delivery responsibilities

  1. BC support the completion of IBHS assessments and FBAs by assigned Clinicians. This includes maintaining a file of FBA materials and facilitating their completion if requested by clinical team.
  2. BC support the clinical team in completion of required data collection for all target behaviors based on the treatment plan and data method (i.e., duration of behavior, intensity, frequency etc.)
  3. BC must work with school staff to de-escalate clients during crisis. BC should reach out to the client's clinical team to inform and request support.
  4. BC must ensure that all incidents are reported to Clinical Director/Supervisor and that a Significant Incident Report form is submitted within 24 hours of the occurrence.
  5. BC must maintain collaboration, progress, or case management notes for services they deliver for IBHS clients at their school

Experience & Qualifications

Education

Master's Degree / Post Graduate Degree  

(Must be from an accredited college or University)

License

LBC

(Required to work with individuals requiring ABA supports)

Work Experience

1-3 years' experience

Qualifications Appendix for State/Program Specific Requirements:

The requirements below are in addition to the standard qualifications as defined on page 1 of the job description. State Additional Qualifications ABA - License in PA as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker behavior specialist, or certified registered nurse AND one of the following: o Certification as a BCaBA OR o Minimum of 1 year full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from an accredited college or university OR o Minimum of 1 year full-time experience providing ABA services under the supervision or a professional with a certification as a BCBA AND a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department of Human Service or the BACB

OR - License in PA as a psychologist and have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services AND a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department of Human Services or the BACB Individual

Individual Non-ABA

(Non ABA) - Licensed as a Behavior Specialist in PA OR - Certification as a BCBA OR - Graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from an accredited college or university OR - Minimum of 1 year full-time experience providing mental health direct services to children -- 21 years of age AND a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from an accredited college or university OR - Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum AND have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university - If working with individuals with Autism: must be licensed in PA as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, or certified registered nurse practitioner AS WELL AS one of the above.
