The Philadelphia Children's Crisis Response Center is a new program for the triage, intervention and stabilization of children and adolescents between the ages of 3 through 17, who are experiencing behavioral and psychiatric crisis. This continuum of care includes a crisis and transitional unit that provides brief treatment and/or stabilization in an age appropriate, family centered, trauma informed environment.
The Philadelphia Children's Crisis Response Center (PCCRC) is currently seeking a Full time, Night Nursing Supervisor.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Philadelphia CRC, the Nursing Supervisor on duty provide administrative and clinical support to the CRC/CSU staff, including basic patient care, direct and indirect diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, whom are working during their specific shift. Hours are to be determined, but will provide coverage for the overnight shift.
The Night Supervisor will:
Supervises all Philadelphia CRC after-hours clinical and operational functions
Conducting rounds of the entire CRC and CSU during his/her scheduled shift
Uses his/her clinical knowledge and sound judgement when making decisions concerning unexpected events and matters critical in nature.
Demonstrates and provides staff with a working knowledge of sound judgment, time management, and priority setting
Provides the administrative team with information and reports that affect operation and patient care
Informs/consults with the Director and/or Assistant Director of the Philadelphia CRC on all serious events which occur during their scheduled shift.
Represents the Philadelphia CRC administration, during their absence AEB.
Displaying quality, professional customer service during all interactions
Serving as a positive role model.
Serves as a resource person to interpret CRC, Nursing, and Human Resource policies and procedures.
Independently ensures that proper staffing levels are maintained during his/her shift and adjacent shifts, and communicates staffing decisions and needs to PCCRC administration
Call unscheduled staff, PRN, then PT/FT, in an effort to provide staffing coverage for unexpected absences.
Assumes leadership role in the event of a Staffing Emergency AEB:
Providing direction and guidance to the CRC staff.
Assess departmental staffing needs based on acuity and patient care needs and discuss any extra needs with the Director and/or Assistance Director as needed.
Work in any job capacity needed at the CRC
Actively participates in rewarding and recognizing staff who have gone above and beyond what is required of them.
Comply with Philadelphia CRC policies regarding attendance and work schedule.
Provide feedback and assures all staff is competent to perform required duties.
Perform performance evaluations in collaboration with the Assistant Director of the CRC.
Communicates and shares information with staff on a regular basis, keeping employees informed of new policies, procedures, new programs and other pertinent information.
Complies with Philadelphia CRC policies on confidentiality.
Complies with all policies related to Emergency Procedures as defined in the Environment of Care Plans, and knows their personal role in the event of a disaster or emergency situation.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required and trained including therapeutic groups.
Participate in patient education.
Coordinate patient care with other team members.
Document patient information per policy.
Observe and report and change in patient’s condition and progress to the Registered Nurse.
Ensure clear legibility on all written documents.
The ideal candidate will:
BSN required.
Degree must be from an accredited program or approved school.
Current PA state license and CPR required.
Five years supervisory or management experience required.
Minimum of three years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting required.
