SMBC Analytics Lead, Marketing (Remote) in Phoenix, Arizona

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $127,000.00 and $189,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:

As the Marketing Data Analytics Lead, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to inform marketing and product performance decisions within the banking sector. This strategic role will enable our marketing team to optimize campaigns, enhance customer segmentation, and increase market share. Leveraging advanced analytics tools and platforms, you will centralize data, develop actionable insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive marketing and product effectiveness.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advanced Analytics and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including digital marketing campaigns, website analytics, social media platforms, customer surveys, e-commerce platforms, and market research reports.

  • Develop and implement robust analytical models to assess the performance of banking products, including pricing analysis and product utilization rates.

  • Design and build interactive dashboards and reports to communicate complex data insights to internal stakeholders across various departments.

  • Utilize data visualization tools to present findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.

  • Centralize and maintain all marketing and customer technology analytics and reports.

  • Translate complex metrics into concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to inform strategy.

Strategic Insights and Recommendations:

  • Analyze product performance to identify key trends and communicate findings internally to the organization.

  • Identify trends and opportunities for optimizing strategies and enhancing product and marketing performance.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance marketing and customer technology efforts.

  • Develop and implement analytical models to understand customer behavior and optimize marketing strategies.

  • Support marketing budget analysis and forecasting, making recommendations based on insights.

  • Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data to identify new market opportunities and target audiences.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing data into broader company data structures.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to achieve business goals.

  • Foster strong relationships with product managers, operations teams, and business development teams to ensure alignment between data analysis and business objectives.

  • Guide third-party agencies on reporting standards, structure, and formats, as needed.

  • Effectively communicate complex data findings to non-technical audiences, translating insights into actionable strategies.

  • Share best practices and promote cross-functional learning.

Technical and Operational Tasks:

  • Manage data integrations between marketing platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data within reports and dashboards.

  • Assist with analytics implementation QA, documentation, and optimization.

  • Manage tag management, ensuring correct implementation and setup of tags within tracking systems.

  • Implement and maintain marketing data governance standards.

  • Monitor and measure the performance of online campaigns, evaluating metrics related to website traffic, lead generation, conversion rates, customer engagement, brand awareness, and product interest.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies to enhance marketing tracking and reporting capabilities.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting on marketing data

  • Strong background in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Proficiency in Google Analytics or similar web analytics platforms.

  • In-depth understanding of digital marketing campaign strategies and tactics.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and data visualization and BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.

  • Experience with Python, or similar tools preferred.

  • Experience with cloud data technologies (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) (a plus).

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and keep collaboration teams on schedule.

  • Strong understanding of the banking industry and its evolving landscape (highly preferred).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
