HireVue Senior Director, Product & Engineering Operations | Fully Remote USA in Phoenix, Arizona

The Senior Director, Product & Engineering Operations and team is chartered with driving effective product lifecycle management to help the Hirevue product portfolio achieve the desired customer and business outcomes. This Product Operations Leader will orchestrate multiple strategic cross-functional initiatives that include the following product lifecycle activities: portfolio-wide planning orchestration, launch readiness and risk management, data-enablement for key initiatives to make better customer-oriented decisions, and providing execution visibility to key stakeholders.

The Senior Director, Product & Engineering Operations will lead a team that interacts directly with Product Managers, Engineering Leadership, Data Science, I/O, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, Legal and other stakeholders to ensure successful launch and adoption of products in the market. Additional responsibilities include providing scaled processes to provide regular status reporting, product roadmap updates, supporting the change management process, and other responsibilities as assigned.

The ideal candidate has experience in scaling SAAS organizations, is a motivated self-starter with leadership, management, collaboration, and communication capabilities that can work cross-functionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing product operations team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them achieve their professional development goals.

  • Process and Internal Tool Optimization

  • Continuously evaluate and improve Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) and product development processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Implement best practices for product lifecycle management, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and release management.

  • Manage internal software development tools/tech stack implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Business Transformation and Value Creation

  • Oversee ongoing business transformation or organization integration projects to ensure they are on track, within scope, and meeting timelines.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, engineering, marketing, sales) to ensure alignment and successful execution.

  • Strategy and Market Analysis

  • Contribute to the development of long-term product strategies and roadmaps through market and segment analysis

  • Collaborate with senior product and engineering leadership to align product roadmap with the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Manage Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, and Reporting

  • Analyze product performance data and operational metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.

  • Prepare and present reports on software development metrics, product operations metrics, progress, and outcomes to senior management.

  • Stakeholder Communication

  • Manage team that serves as the primary point of contact for product operations, facilitating communication between different departments.

  • Ensure that stakeholders are informed about roadmap status, changes, and any managing escalations that need to be addressed.

  • Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation Support

  • Support resource planning and allocation to ensure product and engineering delivery teams have the necessary support to achieve their goals.

  • Identify and provide visibility to resource gaps, dependency mapping, that may impact product development.

  • Vendor Program Management

  • Manage program that supports the monitoring of all Cost of Good Sold (COGS) for product and engineering teams to manage to budget and support the identification of margin enhancement opportunities.

  • Support stakeholder negotiations of key contracts and monitor performance.

  • Software Capitalization Program Management

  • Build out and manage scalable software capitalization programs through tools and processes that are aligned to the R&D investment for product, engineering, data science, and I/O Science teams.

  • Bachelor's degree required in relevant field

  • Required experience with Jira Administration, Confluence, Agile Practices, Scrum Practices

  • Significant M&A Organization and Process Integration

  • Familiarity and management of User analytics Tools (Pendo, Google Analytics, Gainsight)

  • Development and Understanding of Market Assessment (TAM, Segmentation, Market Growth)

  • Business Outcome Measurement & Reporting on Product Development / Delivery Team Investments

  • Global experience preferred

  • Previous experience managing and developing direct reports required, managers preferred

  • SaaS experience required

  • Proven experience in a similar role (especially leading product development/launches), preferably in a similar industry
