Overview of Job Function

Verint’s Sr. Director, Engineering oversees a specific product area within our B2B Enterprise SaaS portfolio guiding the technical roadmap for this product, managing costs, and supporting pre-sales activities for your product area. Emphasizing a 'You build it, you run it' approach among development teams, you'll promote end-to-end ownership of projects to drive quality and frequent releases. As our teams are based in multiple countries, experience managing remote teams is essential.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Define and shape the technical roadmap for a Verint product area, aligning it with the company's and R&D department's OKRs.

  • Manage and optimize the cost structure within product area, including resources, infrastructure, and development.

  • Evaluate the feasibility of requirements and provide expert technical advice during the pre-sales process.

  • Lead and inspire multiple international scrum teams, fostering a culture of Agile methodologies, high performance, and technical excellence.

  • Instill a 'You build it, you run it' DevOps culture among development teams, promoting ownership of the full project lifecycle from design through to deployment and maintenance.

  • Work effectively with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.

  • Identify and implement technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business.

  • Collaborate with Security teams to ensure the security of product, driving best security practices.

  • Contribute to the hiring process to ensure the successful growth and development of our team.

  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering to ensure alignment with the broader company technology vision and strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Minimum of 12 years of overall engineering experience including a minimum of 8 years of management and leadership experience

  • Proven experience leading multiple scrum teams and implementing Agile methodologies

  • Strong background in strategic planning and cost management

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software on time

  • Experience working with OKRs and aligning team objectives with company goals

  • Experience managing remote teams and participating in hiring processes

  • Familiarity with best security practices and collaborating with Security teams

  • Demonstrated success with the 'You build it, you run it’ approach and fostering a culture of ownership

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
