Aerotek Structural Welder in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Title: Structural Welder

Job Description

This position will be working strictly in the field - not in the shop. This role is a cross between a fabricator and a millwright. The Welder will help assemble and build catwalks, mezzanines, stairs, and handrails - all steel structures.

Responsibilities include drilling and welding, applying epoxy, bolting, working with rebar, anchoring bolts into concrete, bolting together steel, installing structural steel, putting up pipe supports, installing brackets, and helping with the assembly of handrails and catwalks. The welder may also weld on-site if needed (stick welding), set conveyors, and assist with small concrete steel scopes.

Additional duties involve setting columns, decking, handrails, and ladders for the installation of new A/C units in existing buildings.

Shift: Start times are 6am or 5am, depending on the job site, with work weeks typically ranging from 40-50 hours. Saturdays vary, approximately once a month.

This is a fully on-site position in Phoenix, Arizona.

Work Environment

Unoccupied warehouses and commercial buildings. Some new construction. All commercial, no residential. Work is mostly ground-up projects such as Apple Store in Fashion Square, ASM manufacturing facility, West Pharmaceutical, and stainless projects at a salt mine. Crews consist of 3 people, with a total of 7 workers in the field, aiming to grow to 20 due to increased workload.

Travel is very rare . Workers provide their own hood and hand tools; all power tools are provide
