Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust Staff Acountant I in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania

*DEPARTMENT: *Accounting

*REPORTS TO: *Treasurer or Comptroller

The ideal candidate should possess a solid accounting background with a minimum of 2 years' experience in various areas of accounting.  An associate degree in accounting or higher is recommended and bank Industry accounting skills are a bonus. 

Aptitudes should include the use of Excel, Adobe Acrobat Tools, multiple software programs and websites, and paperless processes.

Abilities such as accuracy, consistency, attention to detail, problem solving & mathematical skills, multi-tasking, following instructions and organizational skills are considered necessary.  Capability to re-prioritize as needed and adapt to change is essential.  A desire to learn the detailed mechanisms of the sub ledger systems and the flow of audit trails is required.

The model applicant will be joining a high achieving department that adheres to all applicable guidance, policies & procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Journal Entry preparation & posting, Reconciliation completion, preparation of Accounting & subledger Reports, processing of Accounts Payable, Correspondent Bank Account management, assisting in audit requests, and providing support to the Accounting Team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

QUALIFICATIONS:

Accounting background/experience and an understanding/ability to follow an audit trail. Aptitudes should include the use of Excel, Adobe Acrobat Tools, multiple software programs and websites, and paperless processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in Accounting.

Ability to operate a computer & standard office equipment proficiently. 

Good communication skills & ability to work well with others.

Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved programs

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

OTHER SKILLS:

The ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

The ability to be adaptable and flexible to adjust for temporary increases in workloads and changes in the work environment, including the ability to re-prioritize.
