Mississippi Employer Administrative Asst/Bookkeeper/Human Resources in Picayune, Mississippi

The employer is looking for an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper/Human Resources position.  An employee in this position is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in all phases of project management.  Duties require knowledge of the employer's policies, as adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and HUD rules and regulations as they relate to management under the company's Annual Contributions Contract with HUD.  The employee must have the ability to exercise tact and good judgement in effecting compliance with the company's policies, in day-to-day contacts with the company's employees and the public.

Required Knowledges Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the company's and Department of HUD rules and regulations, policies, and procedures that apply to management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of office management and supervision of standard record maintenance procedures applicable to a special field of assignment.
  • Knowledge of the methods of handling, receipting, and maintaining records of money received.
  • Ability to cmmunicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform relatively complex mathematical computations with skill and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain complex clerical records and to prepare & summit accurate reports from vairied accounting or statistical information.
  • Abilty to make decisions requiring judgement and knowledge and to be objective, impartial, and sensitive to the feelings of those concerned.
  • Ability to operate typewriter, calculator, basic knowledge of computers and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, tenants and the public.

Acceptable Training and Experience:

  • Accounting degree preferred or equivalent education and experience in accounting is required.
