JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Dietitian is to provide nutrition care and education to Piedmont Health SeniorCare participants and provide oversight of dietary services. Evaluate the participants nutritional status, develop and implement nutritional care plans, assess nutrient requirements, recommend nutritional prescriptions, evaluate participant tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional care and communicate nutritional data and information to the physician's and other health professionals.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*
Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution approved by the ACENT (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) with a major in nutrition. Master's Degree preferred. One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred.
- Ability to teach; analytical thinking
- Ability to provide care to geriatric participants; knowledge of clinical dietetics
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Type of Employees Supervised: None.
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RND) or Registered Dietitian (RD). Valid NC driver's license.
Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to medical providers, patients and multiple personnel in person and over the telephone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Must meet certification by colorblind standards.
Other: Will be working with potentially hazardous chemicals, exposure to patient body fluids.Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids. Must be able to drive between SeniorCare locations - travel stipend included.
