University of Pittsburgh Faculty.Instructor.Instructor - Part-Time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for the following positions beginning August 26, 2024:

PTI: Ancient Civilizations Instructor:

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor to teach ANTH 1544, Ancient Civilizations. This is to be taught during the Fall term 2024, beginning on August 26, 2024. The course is lecture based and offered Monday/Wednesday 4:30-5:45. Expected enrolment is 50 students. Other time involved includes grading and holding office hours.

Candidates must have a PhD in Anthropology or be ABD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline. Candidates without a PhD must have previous experience teaching Anthropology. PTI: Introduction to Archaeologist Looks at Death Recitation Instructor:

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor to teach four recitations each for ANTH 0538 Archaeologist Looks at Death. These are to be taught during the Fall term 2024, beginning on August 26, 2024. The job includes attending lectures (two 50-minute lectures per week on Monday/Wednesday, 9-9:50), leading four 50-minute recitations per week (25 students each), plus one weekly TA meeting about 45 minutes long. Other time involved includes grading, holding office hours and recitation preparation (with many recitation plans prepared by the main instructor of the class).

Candidates must be working towards or have a MA, PhD, or be ABD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline. Candidates without a PhD must have previous experience teaching Anthropology. The job includes attending lectures (two 50-minute lectures per week on Tuesday/Thursday, 12-12:50), leading four 50-minute recitations per week (25 students each), plus one weekly TA meeting about 45 minutes long. Other time involved includes grading, holding office hours and recitation preparation (with many recitation plans prepared by the main instructor of the class).

The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Anthropology, invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor to lead lab instruction for ANTH Zooarchaeology. This is be taught during the Fall term 2024, beginning on August 26, 2024. The job includes attending lectures (two lectures per week on Tuesday/Thursday, 1:00-2:15). Other time involved includes grading, practicum preparation and holding office hours.

Candidates must have a MA, PhD, or be ABD in Anthropology or a closely related discipline with expertise in zooarchaeology. Candidates without a PhD must have previous experience teaching Anthropology courses.
