DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an SWVC Nurse Manager, you must assertively supervise and support the nursing team, demonstrating strong leadership and empathy when evaluating the nursing staff's performance. You will demonstrate your commitment to the well-being of veteran residents by overseeing and evaluating care processes, ensuring unparalleled quality and compliance, maintaining precise and timely communication, and offering support to veteran spouses. In addition, you will shape policies for compliance, supervise scheduling and performance, and manage disciplinary issues. Your role in collaborating with the Clinical Services Manager to ensure effective coordination of the Nursing Department is instrumental.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment; 40 hour work week. Work hours are 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (commonwealth titles) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; or Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration. A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability.

Special Requirements: All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
