The Software Asset Manager is responsible for maintaining comprehensive and accurate software-related information in the Ivanti Neurons IT Asset Management central repository, determining license compliance positions, and providing recommendations for reducing spend and non-compliance risk. Priority emphasis on Microsoft and Adobe applications.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and organizing software license proof-of-entitlement data from multiple dispersed systems, data sources (for example, spreadsheets, file directories, publisher portals, purchasing records) and various personnel. Data to be captured includes, but is not limited to, software license agreements, versions, purchase details, license allowances and restrictions, renewal dates, license keys, associated costs, and software end-of-life/end-of-support dates. Collected information must be entered into the Ivanti Neurons database.

  • Baselining software license compliance positions (entitlement versus consumption) and reporting results to management including over-licensing and under-licensing situations. Providing recommendations to management for remediating under-licensing (non-compliance) situations at lowest or no cost. Providing recommendations for reducing spend in over-licensing situations.

  • Advising management on upcoming software renewals and their associated costs.

  • Knowledge transfer to existing staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe software licensing metrics, compliance, and ELP reporting.

  • Typically has 5+ years of business experience related to software asset management, software procurement and/or software contract management.

  • Software Asset Management related certification, e.g., CSAM.

  • Solid working knowledge of the software asset lifecycle and publisher licensing models.

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Experience with Ivanti Neurons a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements: 

The physical requirements of this job include frequent sitting with occasional walking around, carrying light objects, grasping, and reaching for things, rare stooping/crouching, clarity of vision, speaking and listening ability.  The mental requirements of this job include general intelligence, motor coordination skills, coordination of hands, eyes and feet, verbal, and numerical intelligence.  The workplace environmental conditions are that of a temperature controlled and clean office setting.  Occasional driving to other office or customer locations.  

Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential job function of this position.  In addition, the duties of this job need to be performed inside of our offices (unless authorized due to extraordinary circumstances by your manager and Human Resources) for the purpose of interaction and collaboration with colleagues and/or clients as necessary, the ability to adequately supervise the associate, and/or the availability of necessary equipment utilized for regular job functions.
