A Day in the Life

Le Ingénieur en conception mécanique senior dirigera la conception de dispositifs à base de cathéters, de gaines et d'accessoires nécessaires aux procédures d'ablation pour la fibrillation auriculaire. Le développement de ces dispositifs se fera en tant que membre d'une équipe interfonctionnelle, de la conception à la mise sur le marché, y compris le support de produit et la transition vers la fabrication à grande échelle.

Les responsabilités peuvent comprendre les éléments suivants et d'autres tâches peuvent être assignées.

  • Concevoir et/ou fabriquer des cathéters d'ablation, des gaines de guidage et des accessoires à partir d'une spécification détaillée ou d'un besoin moins défini du client. Diriger la conception de dispositifs à base de cathéters, de gaines et d'accessoires nécessaires aux procédures d'ablation pour traiter la fibrillation auriculaire.

  • Interpréter les résultats, documenter et présenter des conclusions claires et précises dans le cadre de revues de conception technique.

  • Planifier et exécuter des techniques d'essai de conception à l'aide d'équipements de laboratoire standard pour les conditions de laboratoire et in vivo.

  • Mettre en place et réaliser des essais d'unités complètes à l'appui des activités de caractérisation, de vérification de la conception et de validation de la conception.

  • Analyser les constructions de cathéters afin de mettre au point une méthode de fabrication qui tire parti des technologies de fabrication existantes dans l'établissement.

  • Travailler avec une équipe technique interfonctionnelle (ingénieurs de fabrication, d'approvisionnement, de qualité, de fiabilité et de composants) pour développer, vérifier, valider et mettre en œuvre de nouvelles conceptions de produits.

  • Orienter le travail des techniciens en matière de conception, de développement et de vérification.

  • Consulter les clients, les médecins et les patients pour comprendre les besoins et les exigences des produits.

QUALIFICATIONS DE BASE :

  • Baccalauréat en ingénierie et au moins 4 ans d'expérience pertinente ou diplôme supérieur en ingénierie et 2 ans d'expérience pertinente.

QUALIFICATIONS SOUHAITÉES/PRÉFÉRÉES

  • Connaissance pratique des technologies des systèmes basés sur des cathéters et des processus de fabrication des cathéters.

  • Expérience de la conception et de l'élaboration d'expériences en laboratoire.

  • Capacité à faire preuve de discernement pour déterminer les méthodes de travail appropriées nécessaires à l'obtention de résultats.

  • Capacité avérée à atteindre des objectifs critiques au niveau des projets dans un environnement d'équipe.

  • Connaissance des exigences de l'ISO et de la réglementation relative au système de qualité.

  • Capacité à appliquer les principes de conception pour la fiabilité et la fabrication dans les activités professionnelles quotidiennes.

  • Capacité à communiquer efficacement entre les différentes fonctions.


The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design of catheter-based devices, sheaths, and disposable delivery tools and accessories required for Atrial Fibrillation ablation procedures. Development of these devices will be done as a member of a cross-functional team, working from concept through market release, including product support and transition to high volume manufacturing.

Cardiac Ablation Solutions seeks candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action.

  • Design and/or fabricate ablation catheters, guide sheaths, and implant procedure accessories from either a detailed specification, or a less defined customer need. Lead the design of catheter based devices, sheaths, and disposable delivery tools and accessories required for AF ablation procedures.

  • Interpret results, document, and present clear, accurate findings through technical design reviews.

  • Plan and execute design test techniques using standard lab equipment for bench and in-vivo conditions.

  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units in support of characterization, design verification, and design validation activities.

  • Perform analysis of catheter constructions in an effort to develop a method for manufacturing which leverages existing manufacturing technologies within the facility.

  • Work with a cross functional technical team (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Reliability, and Component Engineers) to develop, verify, validate and implement new product designs.

  • Provide work direction to technicians for design, development, and verification.

  • Consult with customers, physicians and patients to understand needs and product requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineeringand a minimum of 4 years relevant experience or an advanced degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of catheter-based systems technologies and catheter manufacturing processes.

  • Experience in designing and developing laboratory experiments.

  • Ability to apply judgment in determining the appropriate work methods needed to achieve results.

  • Proven ability to accomplish critical project level objectives in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of ISO and Quality System Regulation requirements.

  • Ability to apply Design for Reliability and Manufacturing principles in daily work activities.

  • Ability to effectively communicate across functions
