In this job, you’ll be part of the Outside Plant Construction & Project Management group within Edison Carrier Solutions (ECS). ECS is a commercial business that provides wireless infrastructure and telecommunication services to carriers and large enterprises. The Project Manager will have construction oversight of projects from the pre-construction meeting through construction completion.

  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with SCE construction standards and requirements, including safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Oversee and schedules construction vendors, and field inspectors to ensure customer expectations and timelines are met.

  • Collaborate with SCE stakeholders in Transmission, Substations and Service Centers to ensure construction requirements are met.

  • Review construction drawings and lead pre-construction meetings with customer’s construction contractor and SCE’s construction contractor.

  • Ensure sites are built or modified according to the approved construction plans.

  • Provide issue resolution for all activities related to the construction or modification of a wireless carrier cell site on SCE assets.

  • Coordinate with substation stakeholders for scheduling of electrical checkers and for new access gates as needed.

  • Coordinate with contractors for the pick-up of material from Alhambra yard.

  • Ensure city conditions of approval are addressed and met during construction.

  • Complete safety observations and site inspections as required.

  • Provide initial scope of work to contractors and approve invoices in Ariba.

  • Ensure closing packages and as-built documents are accurate, and site information is updated in the CRM system.

  • Manage construction vendor relationships and conduct safety meetings.

  • Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and cost targets.

  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

The essentials

  • Seven or more years of combined project management experience in wireless cell site construction, telecommunications or utility construction including ownership of scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.

The preferred

  • Experience in the deployment of wireless cell sites on SCE assets.

  • Thorough knowledge of SCE policies and procedures with respect to construction on Transmission rights-of-way and substations.

  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

You should know…

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs

  • The primary work location for this position is Pomona , CA however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for a period out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • Position will require up to 90% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory, a company vehicle will be assigned.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
