Position Overview

As a (PASRR) Preadmission Screening and Resident Review Clinical Evaluator, you will conduct onsite assessments to facilitate appropriate placement and care for local populations in Port Angeles, Washington. Your role involves providing essential evaluations and recommendations to enhance patient well-being and quality of life. These assessments, primarily conducted in nursing homes, hospitals or communities based settings, playing a crucial role in determining the level and scope of care required for each patient.

As a trusted expert, you will evaluate, make determinations and recommendations for next level of care, helping to improve patient's well-being and overall quality of life. This is a PRN Hybrid role that combines working from your home office with traveling to evaluate patients within your local areas, including the Port Angeles area. Mileage and parking will be fully reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review medical records, and interact with healthcare professionals, patients, their families, and other support systems to conduct accurate screenings, evaluations and determinations

  • Assess and analyze psychological, emotional, behavioral and physical functioning.

  • Determine level of care recommendations based upon clinical evaluations.

  • Adhere to the State's best standards of mental health practices, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other related conditions necessitating nursing care services and supports.

  • Ensure compliance with necessary workflows to maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and conduct case consultations/peer reviews as needed.

  • Stay updated on current regulations, and research related to long-term care, mental illness, medical conditions, and geriatrics.

  • Monitor personal metrics to ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements.

  • Ensures compliance with necessary workflows.

  • The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties that management may deem necessary.

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in assessing and diagnosing individuals with mental/psychiatric disorders, including complex differential diagnoses related to substance use, medical conditions, cognitive issues, and dementia.

  • Active unrestricted licensure in Washington in a healthcare or related field, such as a Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker Independent Clinical License.

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a relevant degree program.

  • Experience with public mental health and medical programs as well as public sector services and supports.

  • Working knowledge of Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) requirements per Federal Regulation 42 CFR, Chapter 483.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders as defined by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in use in Washington.

  • Experience in determining a clinical diagnosis accounting for psychological and behavioral issues.

  • Knowledge of standards of practice related to determination of Level of Care.

  • Knowledge of standards of practice related to mental health, geriatrics, and other disorders commonly necessitating long-term care placement.

  • Experience working with the geriatric population.

  • Strong understanding of

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and other web-based software.

  • · Capability to collaborate with various office staff to support essential workflows.

  • · Ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, their families, and other support systems.

  • · Excellent communication skills for conveying information to individuals and groups through spoken, written, and electronic media.

  • · Keen attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.

  • · Expertise in assessing and analyzing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning

Compensation

The compensation for this role is $40.00 to $45.00 per hour. Based on our compensation program, an applicant’s position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
