Commander, Navy Installations MWR BARTENDER in Port Hueneme, California

Summary This position functions as a Bartender at the Southwest Region Morale. The incumbent is underthe direct administrative and technical supervision of the MWR Director or other designatedsupervisor, who schedules and provides directions and goals.The incumbent performs routine assignments without specific instructions from others, butrefers situations not covered by established policies to supervisor resolutio Responsibilities Operates a limited-service bar such as portable bars for private parties and banquets. Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. Receives and records payment at time of sale. Maintains inventory of stock.Ensures bar is in a presentable and sanitary condition. Receives instructions concerning the proper operation of the bar either orally or in writing from the manager and is held responsible for the proper operation of the limited-service bar. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages from a bar which is limited to a few varieties and brands of liquor, soda, beer, and wine Pre-mixed beverages, such as daiquiris, are served; however, beverages of the exotic variety are not mixed or served. Knowledge of the correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages according to name request from patrons or cocktail attendants. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Ability to collect tabs or chits in appropriate amounts and reconcile them with the quantities and prices of items dispensed. Must walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.Frequently handles objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally objects weighing up to40 lbs. Education You must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent Unit. Additional Information Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
