Indorama Ventures Technician Analyzer in Port Neches, Texas

Job Description :

Indorama Ventures – Indovinya is seeking an Instrument Technician Analyzer. In this role, you will be expected to apply technical expertise in the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Gas Chromatographs, Continuous Process Analyzers, and the Delphian gas detection system. In this role you are expected to repair and maintain all types of analytical instruments in a chemical process environment.

What will be expected of you?

  • Perform inspection and repairs on Process analyzers and Sample systems.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on all types of process analyzers.

  • Capable of reading and understanding P&ID’S, PFD’S, and perform maintenance tasks using instrument loop sheets.

  • Responsible for emergency call-out and rotating weekly on-call duty.

  • Always maintain and promote a safe work environment and follow Safe Work Practices established by Indorama.

  • Maintain electronic and paper documentation for Preventive Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity tasks, and regulatory required calibrations.

  • Use of relevant types of testing equipment and instruments.

  • Responsible for Preventive Maintenance on Gas Chromatographs (GC).

  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of (GC) Siemens Maxum II, Applied Automation (Advanced Opti-Chrom) and Yokogawa GC1000 Mark II analyzers.

  • Responsible for Teledyne Continuous Emissions Monitor System (CEMS) Analyzer maintenance, calibration, and repair.

  • Calibration, repair, and maintenance of analytical instruments like O2, CO and Moisture analyzers.

  • Identifies and communicates troubleshooting and diagnostic evaluations for causes of instrumentation failures in instrumentation units assigned.

  • Troubleshoots hardware and controls as needed.

  • Supports production with the startup and shutdown of operations as needed.

  • Troubleshooting and repair of control circuits for various electrical equipment.

  • Regularly performs routine Preventive Maintenance and repairs to assure equipment runs reliably and efficiently and completes Preventative Maintenance paperwork/tablet entry.

  • Performs housekeeping duties to keep the area clean and free from debris.

  • Supports Process, Project, and Control Reliability Engineers on a daily basis.

  • Effective in communicating Instrumentation needs to all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to follow site protocols for documenting work and equipment repair histories as applicable.

  • Participates in Company required training programs and maintains required electrical credentials.

  • Completes required computer-based training within specified timeframes and maintains current knowledge in the Analyzer functional area.

  • Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).

  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, the ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure the required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.

  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.

  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • Two-year associate degree in Instrumentation - Electronics or completion of a 4- or 5-year Apprenticeship program 5 years of Instrument Technician experience in a petrochemical/refining facility or similar industry is required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have or be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). Please visit the website below for TWIC eligibility and requirements. https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic

  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting and repair analytical equipment.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office).

  • Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Can read and understand schematic drawings and P&ID's.

  • Ability to read code a plus.

  • Must be able to reason and interpret a variety of complex technical instructions. Knowledge of Delta V.

  • Must be able to use Inductive/Deductive reasoning and sequential thinking skills to resolve problems and organize the flow of work.
