Harder Mechanical Contractors VDC Support Technician in Portland, Oregon

As an VDC Support Technician, you will be responsible for resolving internal and external issues with AutoCAD Verticals such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Fabrication CADMEP, and Plant3D Spec Editor. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution of projects and plans for Harder Mechanical within the Virtual Design & Construction environment. This role is based out of our headquarters office in Portland, OR. What you’ll be doing:

You will be responsible for working directly with modelers and project teams to resolve day to day issues and ensure their operations run smoothly. The technology environment is constantly changing, so you’ll support the VDC Support Team in adapting to changes and understanding how different applications affect each other. A successful candidate will complete customer requests accurately and in a timely manner using the programs outlined below and in accordance with Harder’s developed standards. This is an entry level role that supports our VDC team.

VDC Support Technicians at Harder perform the following daily tasks:

  • Work directly with modelers and project teams to resolve day-to-day issues using critical thinking, outside resources, and collaboration with teammates. Users submit issues which are then tracked and resolved by this team.

  • Work with Sr. Support Technician and Technology Manager to understand Lean process to minimize request time and maximize throughput of action items

  • Work with users to identify and understand issues, and provide training and support where necessary

  • Communicate effectively with project teams, VDC support team, IT department, vendors and other stakeholders

  • Create self-help documentation for other users to reference if they encounter the same issue.

  • Set realistic schedules for issue resolution and be able to ask for help or advice when needed.

    What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Respond to technical support requests in a timely manager

  • Peer review of support requests

  • Advance unresolved issues to senior staff as required

  • Interest in learning new and existing software applications

    Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with Autodesk products such as Revit, Plant3D, and AutoCAD

  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.

  • Coding or 3D printing experience is a plus
