The Data Analyst – Rail & Logistics position will be primarily responsible for successful execution of timely rail operations KPI’s, audit, benchmarking, and reporting analytics to support various cross functional teams. The successful candidate will perform daily structured work assignments to provide customer focused service that supports operational as well as financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Primary support in gathering data across multiple platforms to maintain and develop reporting in support of the rail logistics team
Perform daily data mining and analysis in support of fleet management and projects related to railcar repair and maintenance, departmental KPI’s and continuous improvement
Proactively communicate with the team and provide first level of escalation regarding rail shipment exceptions, provide documentation with attention to detail, ensure concerns are properly addressed and closed out in a timely manner
Collaborate with internal Win Waste stakeholders and external partners to support IT projects or other company initiatives as needed
Evening and weekend coverage will be required to cover railcar pipeline management on a rotating schedule
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in data analytics, logistics or other related field from an accredited institution
1- 3 years or more in logistics coordination with reporting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe
Strong data mining skills, experience with developing business analytics, creating charts or graphs from tables, and familiarity with PowerBI
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Experience in rail transportation and waste industry is a plus
Preferred:
1-5 years of experience in the rail transportation industry
Familiar with principles for fleet analysis, cost analysis, route analysis, root cause analysis, financial analysis
Knowledge of railroad terms and definitions, railcar equipment, AAR policies, and FRA rules and regulations
