Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Charge Nurse - Poteau Family Practice in Poteau, Oklahoma
This is a regular, full-time position at the Rubin White Clinic in Poteau | Schedule will be M-F 8-4:30

Job Summary: Assume responsibility for nursing activities on assigned unit and role of supervisor and nurse manager in their absence. Provide direct patient care on the Unit. Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicate with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including: chest pain and changes in vital signs and results of diagnostic studies. Respond quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment. You will report to Nurse management.
Primary Tasks:
Assume a supervisory role during the duration of the duty assignment.
Coordinate with multi-health disciplines in planning for care after discharge.
Perform a head-to-toe assessment of pediatric and adult patients and their clinical condition. Assess patient's physical/mental status.
create an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
Assess and reassess pain management techniques used. Educate the patient and family regarding pain management.
Demonstrate competency to operate all specialty instruments, supplies and equipment and trains assesses the competencies of others.
Collaborate with the Unit Manager, ADON and DON to identify budgets.
Required Education and experience:
Enter information using the RPMS and EHR system for each visit.
Define and code the purpose of visit using the ICD-10-CM, CPT and 3M coding software.
Create Visit Review Coding Queue, which involves a review of a variety of error reports and reviewing the documentation resulting in deleting or appending data to an incomplete visit.
Apply the appropriate ICD-10-CM Diagnosis/Procedure; multiple primary providers and responding to different other edit errors.
Train healthcare providers and health record personnel in concepts, procedures, features and usage.
Abstract and code ambulatory surgery charts using ICD-10-CM and CPT.
Perform chart reviews.
Send deficiencies to providers to complete.
Enter charges into the RPMS system from charge tickets and verify information from the medical record.
