Range: $250,000 - $330,000 salary commensurate based on experience

Position Summary: The Head Coach of Mens Ice Hockey organizes, conducts and supervise all aspects of the mens ice hockey team within the parameters designated by the university, applicable conferences and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

General Purpose: A successful Hockey coach at Clarkson University will provide effective leadership in each of the following areas in relation to their sport: recruiting, teaching/coaching, counseling, marketing, alumni relations, fund raising, and sport administration. It will be necessary to prioritize and balance these activities in a manner that best promotes and advances their sport within all Clarkson University, ECACH and NCAA rules and regulations.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive intercollegiate sport program by:

Organizing recruiting/evaluation of student athletes Conducting and supervising practices and player conditioning Scouting of future opponents Preparing for and implementing game strategies Participating in conference and NCAA meetings Providing appropriate leadership, direction and supervision relevant to the academic progress and personal development of student athletes within the mens ice hockey program Adhering to all conference and CNAA rules/requirements relevant to he conduct of the intercollegiate mens ice hockey program Preparing information relevant to budgeting, equipment needs and program concerns Assigning responsibilities to assistant coaches Supervising all aspects of work performance of assistant coaches Creating a positive and productive environment for the student athletes Participate in promotional and public relations to advance athletic programs by:

Perform a lead role using hockey to increase visibility for the University on campus and throughout the surrounding communities Work closely with the Universitys development staff on fundraising and corporate partnerships activities Work cooperatively with the University alumni office to strengthen ties to University Alumni Encourage student-athletes to assist in community engagement activities Represent University at designated University Functions Serve in public relations capacities as requested Other duties as assigned Performance of the above duties require you to be at work.

Education: Minimal Qualifications:

Division I hockey experience Well-developed communication and public relation skills Ability to work accurately under pressure Discretion and Integrity, possess excellent leadership skills Appreciation and willingness to work effectively with students Excellent rapport with faculty and staff Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree Playing experience at the college or professional level Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations Demonstrated interpersonal skills to enhance interaction with athletes, peers, alumni, administration and the community Experience: Division I Hockey Experience Required
