What You Will Do

Kenvue is recruiting for a Global Senior Commercial Accounting for its EMEA Finance Operations team. This role is part of the Finance Operations team with the successful candidate being an integral piece of the Commercial Accounting team for Kenvue. This role reports directly to the Global Commercial Accounting Director and will ensure decisions made in the Commercial Accounting area are compliant and consistent with worldwide procedures. The Sr Commercial Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing Kenvue’s revenue recognition, gross to net sales accounting, advertising & sales promotion equalization, and accruals (trade spend, rebates, returns, etc.) processes in compliance with company policy and applicable regulatory requirements. This includes planning, controlling, and directing the supporting team members within the Commercial Accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Process responsibilities:

o Manage the team responsible for all activities related to commercial accounting, including sales, gross to net sales accounting, rebates and promotions accounting, billings, deferrals, reserves, sales reconciliations, and revenue recognition for the EMEA region.

o Oversee the accounting operations related to Billed Marketing Expenses (BME) and royalties, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition in line with global accounting standards.

o Maintain a deep understanding of the organization's revenue cycles and business models.

o Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.

o Liaise with Legal Entity Controllers to ensure audit compliance and assist with any audit requests received.

o Support ongoing improvements and automation projects within the Commercial Accounting team.

o Remain updated with industry trends, changes in accounting rulings, and latest technologies to ensure the team is evolving as per industry standards.

o Fostering global standardization and optimization initiatives across all business units, collaborating regularly on the development and adherence to documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with the key aim to implement and maintain one consistent, high-quality standard across regions

  • Compliance:

o Participate in the audit process and liaise with Legal Entity Controllers to ensure sound financial practices.

o Ensure adherence, monitor, remediate and align compliance responsibilities with stakeholders.

o Manage, mitigate, and escalate risks on a timely basis.

o Ensure strong internal controls are in place to achieve SOX compliance

  • Leadership and People Management:

o Fostering collaborative relationships with essential functions such as Legal Entity Controllership, Business Unit Finance, Technical Accounting, and other Finance Operations Managers.

o Engage with Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners to cultivate a One Team mentality, building positive relationships across the organization to deliver results and to drive best practice.

o Manage the Commercial Accounting team and provide mentorship and training for career development.

o As a member of the Finance Operations team, assist in attracting, developing, and retaining a highly competent, high-performing, motivated and diverse team.

o Responsible for the retention and career development of direct reports.

  • Travel:

o Up to 1-6% international travel

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent is required, preferably in accounting or finance.

  • Fluent English, other language skills desirable, confidence in presenting to Senior Management in English

  • 6-10 years of experience in accounting, problem solving, process improvement, and communication

  • At least 2 years of Management / Supervisory experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels

  • Ability to frame clear & concise communication across all relevant stakeholders

  • Be open to new ideas, rapid change and embracing new technologies

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and fluid situations, demonstrating a pragmatic approach

  • Successfully manage a team, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines

  • Ability to drive process and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Solid US GAAP accounting knowledge preferrable

  • Lead/Participate in other Regional/Global/Cross functional duties as assigned

  • Experience in a Commercial Accounting department

  • CPA, CMA, MBA and/or other financial certifications
