Statement of the Job:
The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a part-time Director of Health Services to begin August 2024.
The primary purpose of UMPI Health Services is to promote health and wellness on the UMPI campus. The medical provider for the campus provides treatment to students and oversight of health and wellness-related educational efforts. This is a 10-month (August 1 to May 31 of each year) position located on the UMPI campus. The work schedule will be 4 clinical hours each day (Monday through Friday) which can be negotiable based on availability and campus needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver health care services to students; diagnose/treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness
Prescribe appropriate medications
Order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work
Oversee the intake and processing of immunization records to meet the State of Maine Immunization requirements
Report annually to the State of Maine for Immunization Law Compliance
Provide immunizations and assist all campus programs with meeting compliance needs (i.e. help students meet medical guidelines for off-campus educational experiences)
Order and manage medical supplies and vaccines
Manage the Health Services budget
Represent UMPI on health committees locally and within the University of Maine System
Assist employees when health questions and concerns arise within the residence halls
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other departments to promote health and wellness
Assist the UMPI Athletics department by assisting with required physicals for athletes, as well as consulting on treatment plans

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary range is $50,000 - $60,000. The UMS is a recipient of the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Award and offers wellness programs.

Qualifications:
Required:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or above.
Registered with the Maine State Board of Nursing
National Certification Corporation Certified
Current Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate (DEA Number)
Malpractice Insurance Certified Yearly
Must obtain an NPI (National Provider Identification Number)
