Brown University Administrative Assistant, BRYTE Program in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:

The position provides coordination of the Brown University Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment (BRYTE) program. BRYTE is a student-led organization that pairs Brown undergraduate and medical school tutors with students in refugee families that have recently relocated to Providence from all over the world. BRYTE works in close collaboration with the Hasbro Refugee Health Program. The University and the Warren Alpert Medical School seek administrative support of the BRYTE program in accordance with the terms outlined below.

This is a part-time (30 hours per week), one year term position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Required: Associates degree plus 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of BRYTE Program experience as an undergraduate or medical student preferred

  • Prior BRYTE Leadership role preferred

Job Competencies

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community

  • Excellent organizational and skills

  • Proficient with standard office application software, word, excel, database, calendar management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to think and act independently and handle competing priorities

Criminal Background and Education Check Required.
