Meeting Street Teacher Assistant Substitute in Providence, Rhode Island

This is an exciting time to join Meeting Street as we are nearing completion of our brand-new Early Childhood Center!

Meeting Street is currently looking for a Teacher Assistant Substitute in the Early Learning Center.

Duties:

  • Provide support to the Teacher in carrying out daily activities, supervision, hygiene, classroom cleanliness, feeding, personal care, implementing curriculum and assessment of children in the toddler classroom.
  • Provide individual and group support to children with and without IEP needs, making adjustments and accommodations so that all children can learn and grow in a truly inclusive environment.
  • Facilitate interactions to create opportunities for social/emotional growth, and opportunities to develop individual age-appropriate self-help skills.
  • Implement age-appropriate classroom behavior management by demonstrating positive guidance, giving sensory breaks and input along with redirection, and modeling conflict resolution.
  • Communicate with families daily regarding their child's activities and progress verbally at drop-off and pick-up, throughout the day using the Brightwheel app, and by zoom, email and phone to enhance the parent/school partnership.
  • Substitute positions are called to work on an as-needed basis to cover absences of regular staff or to support additional staffing needs.

Requirements:

  • Current CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential or 12+ College credits earned in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Special Education.
  • Valid CPR and first aid training/certification
  • A minimum of 1 year working experience with young children, birth to age 5.
