BYU MTC Cafeteria Worker (Spring 2024) in PROVO, Utah

MTC Cafeteria Worker

We need help in the MTC Cafeteria and have a lot of opportunities available for work. Our shifts are only approximately 3 hours long but can be stacked with other shifts if you want to work longer days.  We also have an option to be on-call (with no set schedule, just pick up shifts as people need them off). 

 

You will be limited to 910 hours PER YEAR (an average of 17.5 hours per week).

 

You can pick your shifts based on your schedule.  Starting pay is $15/hr separated into $13/hr +$2/hr Meal Credits (with additional incentives for certifications in specialized areas, and for working certain shifts).

Currently, we require all employees to work 1-2 shifts every other Saturday also Lunch and Dinner shifts every third Sunday.  A sacrament service is provided for those who would like to attend most Sundays."

 

What you'll do in this position:

  •  Cooking Food
  • Serving Food
  • Some lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Operating dish machines

     

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • Able to obtain Food Handlers Permit through Y-Train within two weeks of your first day (if you don't have one already)
  • Able to complete 2-3 hours of online training (this will be paid as work hours, but you will need to be able to complete this outside of work)
  • Able to work well with others
  • Dependable (we expect you to show up for all of your scheduled shifts, or find someone to sub for you)
  •  Multi-tasker
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
