Job Assignment:
The Director of Psychology is a full-time position with administrative responsibilities. This position exists to direct and manage the Psychology Departments as it provides services pertaining to the care and treatment of the patient population. This position is directly responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the overall program operation, including but not limited to strategic budget planning and collaboration with CFO, staffing patterns which maximize client benefit in receipt of services, and establishing guidelines and processes which advance the mission of the hospital, such that they benefit with greatest efficiency the operations and functions CMHHIP.
Job Duties:
Provides leadership and direction to the daily operations of the work unit of the Psychology Departments
Supervises a department consisting of two levels of Psychologists, Behavior Analysts, Psychology Candidates, Social Workers and Psychology Interns. Direct supervision and performance management of 7 CMHIP psychologists responsible for quality assurance for approximately 25 CMHIP psychologists
Ensure the highest level of application of theory and principles related to psychosocial therapy integration within a psychiatric institution and co/treatment from a framework inclusive of recovery models and trauma-informed care principles.
Determines, designs, and identifies the implementation processes of psychological patient assessments, treatment, and evaluation in line with patient needs and plans of care, as well as assuming the oversight and direction of the sex offender treatment staff currently responsible for this specialized treatment modality
Interpret needs for the work unit based on the strategic master plan and allocated resources
Development of budgetary requests and oversight of the operating and personal services budgets. Approving official for P-cards purchases. Manages annual operating funds assigned to the Psychology Department and assigned departmental areas, providing a comparable level of service with diminishing dollars and increased budget constraints as needed in order to provide essential services.
Establishes and maintains relationships with agencies and other community providers including the Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health, Behavioral Health Administration, American Psychological Association, BHO’s, Community Boards, HCPF, the Community Mental Health Centers and other agencies to inform and assure communication regarding changes in trends is updated and implemented in accordance with applicable laws, rules, standards, and legislative changes and trends

Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only:
Ten (10) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to
this position
OR
Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation
related to the work assigned to this position equal to ten (10) years
Special Qualifications:
Be currently licensed to practice as a Psychologist in the state of Colorado as
required by DORA, or eligible for licensure in Colorado, and obtain license within 60 days of offer. Candidate must obtain a Colorado license prior to starting employment at CMHHIP
Preferred Qualifications:
Six years of executive leadership experience
Mental health hospital experience
Experience managing a psychology department (including workflow planning)
Extensive experience working with patients with mental illness
Experience with Forensic Psychology issues such as Competent to Proceed Competency Restoration, Violence Risk Assessment, Violence Risk Management and the detection of feigning and/or malingering.

Eligible for clinical privileges by the medical staff
TB testing and other vaccinations as required by the State of Colorado
