Professional Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and evaluation of clinical sites and arranging clinical experiences consistent with specific nursing program outcomes. The Clinical Placement & Onboarding Coordinator is the primary contact for clinical placements and serves as the liaison between the College of Nursing (CON) and its students, faculty, staff and healthcare agencies. The Clinical Placement and Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for complex communication and problem solving to maintain positive working relationships. The Clinical Placement and Onboarding Coordinator operates from an understanding of nursing education and practice gained through collaborative relationships with CON lead faculty. The purpose of this position is to facilitate a positive clinical learning experience for WSU College of Nursing students in Tri-Cities. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, self-motivated, efficient, and able to maintain appropriate records in line with accreditation and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services/counseling or related education/experience (of which one (1) year is in health-related setting or organization). • Experience leading or directing the work of others. • A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Customer service, communication, or public relation experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in relevant health-related field • Two years of full-time, professional experience in health sciences education, staff development, or clinical placement. • Experience developing, maintaining, and/or using computerized record systems and information management. • Experience working with a formalized network of schools of nursing and clinical agencies for student clinical placement. • Willingness and ability to establish and maintain external relationships in person, via phone, and digital communications. • Ability to use and learn multiple software programs and online systems. • Demonstrated skills in organizing large amounts of data, independent task management, and attention to detail. • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
